I think this belonged to the late Frank Wileman and left to his son Mark. It spent its early life out in Holland and returned to the UK and funnily enough to a property in Darley Abbey, Derby (where the bikes where built) about 20-25 years ago. It was one I did get the chance to buy but it was dead rough and they wanted far to much for it. It sat around a while untill frank bought it and Frank and Mark renovated over a number of years. It was at Abbotsholm a few years ago. Is it on show or up for sale?
Frank was the long term/full term factory electrician for Silk Engineering, a great guy who we all really liked.
The engine and frame number should be in the records this site keeps but I cant remember it just now. Staffs

Or it could be a gentleman from Dudley, Derek. He also has Velocettes and is a known doer in the Velo club.
If this is his bike, this one was Sold new to Paul Whitehead of Cromford nr Matlock, Derbyshire.
This is a 700sPR This paint job and TZ fairing was a copy of the Silk production racer of Alan Taylor (silk eng).
For those who know Cromford and the road A5012 Via Gellia. Paul lived at the Start of this road and as you might expect was "an expert" on this section of Derbyshire road. He told me because it is so tight and twisty he took great pleasure in blowing off the more modern bikes of the time along its stretch. He kept the bike many years and it was often seen at Darley Moor where he was a frequent spectator. He sold it when the first of the new MVs came back onto the market, it changed hands a couple of times until Derek acquired it about 10 years ago?
Dont know if he still owns it.

Just seen the orange and black Silk in the Gallery. If thats at the Abbotsholme Scott gathering where the picture was taken then that one is Franks so I think the bike in question is the Via Gellia specialist. Origianaly same seat units but I seem to remember these where not over strong so perhaps thats why it is now different. Also Franks is twin disc.
