Silk 700s Mk2 handlebars

Hi,
What bike, where the handlebars styled on,eg Norton/Bsa-Triumph?.

Can't help with the original bars - the bars on my bike were made by Stainless Systems of Farndish, Northants.  They are 26 inches wide with about a 2 inch offset.

I have a letter dated 1982, which came with the bike, from G Pedlar who owned Stainless Systems concerning the feasibility of re-starting manufacture of Silk Motorcycles. It was deemed not practical. The company also proposed making exhaust pipes, silencers, centre stands and kickstart cranks all in stainless.  They were also offering an SU Carb kit.  

The company was owned by a G Pedlar - A Geoff Pedlar runs Cover Systems from a nearby location and has an interest in motorcycles - wonder if he is the same person?

As I recall the Peddler stainless raised bars were standard fitting MKII onwards and were off no other particular bike.
Vincent straights were an alternative option and were fitted if an Oxford handle bar fairing was fitted at the factory.

That's interesting - I thought I had after market bars fitted.  Always learning something new about the bike.

Mine were 650 ss Norton bars fitted at the factory.

Hi,
   The bike as now got norton commando bars US pattern, 5" rise.
Had vincent straights before, long stretch over tank as you get older.
Had to shorten them, to wide at 32", shortened to 28".
