Anybody got a copy or better still did one of you do it ?

Or anybody got any spares to help the fellow ??

Hi Arthur,

This is the part used, its from a Triumph from the 1980's. I bought it as my crankcase was full of bits of rubber, however on dismantling the tensioner had been modified with a brass runner. So I still have the part I secured. Its unused, rare and took some tracking down and it also cost me £80. Hopefully it will be useful to a Silk or Triumph owner!

John Ford-Dunn has kindly reminded me the Jon Hodges adapted a Royal Enfield tensioner system and has covered over 5,000 miles on it by April 2022 when pictures and drawings were published on pages 279 and 280 of Yowl the Scott owners club magazine.

This utilises parts 570047 and 570029 which are obtainable from Hitchcock's the RE people in UK at nominal cost

I haven t been using the Silk so just seen this Arthur.

I have the drawing and made one, but as some predicted the chain bounce meant the auto adjuster just went to max tension newly straight away. I adapted and taped the tube and used a threaded rod adjuster to tighten or slacken. Not sure it's any better than standard.
Can I post a photo of the article on here?

Hello,
the primary chain tensioner of the Silk is completely missing.
Arthur already sent me lots of information, how to manufacture a new one.
Additionally to the forum contents, there are three examples.
Please send me your opinion, what is the best solution.

Many thanks in advance.
Hendrik

Use the drawing to replicate.

I'm sorting my parts at present and finding more than I remember maybe complete next few weeks. If I have one will confirm.
