Hi , i spoke to kev earlier , maybe i'm getting old before my time , but fegot the name of the cast wheels that went on the silk, can anyone help?
thanks again
My Wheels are factory fitted and are 6 spoke ARE Ltd British made wheels. There were some foreign wheels fitted I think but the ARE Ltd are the correct type. If you find a good set for the correct fitment well done I have been looking for a spare set for about 5 years I think.
Hi Eric I have been searching eBay for ages using the search '6 spoke alloy wheel' or just looking for 'ARE alloy wheels' and found nothing so far for anything where have you seen some?
As far as I recall, we only fitted ARE wheels. The Italian Campagnolo? wheels that were offered as standard optional fitting were never taken up by any new owner as they cost half as much again as the bike. They were a hydraulic drum, gold and very Italian, very nice, never to be seen again. Anyone out there got a pair?
These wheels were fitted to the RD Yamaha type bikes so I am guessing they have all been scrapped, rotted away or there might just be one or two examples out there on some immaculate show bike. As you owners possibly already know the wheel rim is incredibly soft so avoid running up kerbs etc.
