As Jon said plus which tensioner type have you got as earlier ones tend to flex and bend causing chain issues.
The chain should be adjusted to the point you just hear a hydraulic type whine with the engine running then back off about a quarter turn.
It should be quite quiet with no slapping noises.
Also I wouldn't use TQF or similar now as a number of them have modern additives that old clutches dont like.
I recommend a standard semi synthetic 10w40 motorcycle oil that is used in wet clutch applications such as Silkolene 4T
