How is the advance/retard base plate attached to the shaft?

Hi, I am working on potentially replacing my Lumenition ignition with a Tri-spark programmable unit. Does anybody know how the advance/retard base plate is fastened to the shaft? Does anybody have pictures of the base plate (front/side/back) and what lies underneath?

If I do go ahead with the transplant I will post a detailed account of what I did (and if it works!).
