I’ve just taken delivery of 1L Gear Oil Light from Opie. On the large label on front of the bottle, alongside a graphic of gear wheels,  it says “SAE 75 SAE 80”. In the small print on the back of the bottle it says “For use in 2T and other separate gearbox machines. CRANKCASE RATING [emphasis added] SAE 10W - 40.” Does this perhaps indicate only different viscosity at the higher temperature of a crankcase?
