Cylinder bore plating

With only standard size pistons available I was thinking of alternatives to having the cylinder liners replaced.  Nikasil coating has been used for quite a few years now and is mainly used to coat aluminium cylinders without liners.  It can be used to to repair damaged cast iron liners - see Langcourt FAQ page.   Looks like it could extend the life of a set of liners and can be redone if it wears without liner replacement. Any thoughts on using Nikasil plating on a Silk?
