Guys there will be an abundance of Silk mk2 engine and gearbox spares coming onto ebay very shortly.
Due to major damage to my engine and gearbox and ongoing problems that will probably never be sorted out in a reasonable budget I have decided to give up on the rebuild. What I would have to spend to get a good end result is lots more than the bike would ever be worth. (plus I don't know how the gearbox case would stand up to road use after the repairs). Sheer bloody mindless and determination have to be put to one side. So with regret I am going to have to fit a different engine and gearbox, probably a tzr250. It will still be a good bike that I can use.
All the best Kev
Nah shite gearboxes, think I'm going to go for a TZR quite quick and same power as Silk if not more. Gave up wasting money on a crap engine of mine. Got a colour yet??
