Good evening and my best greetings from Germany.

After waiting two month after sale agreed on the HandH auction I would like to place Silk no. 136/138 back on the landscape. She lives now close to the dutch and belgian border in a small town called Gangelt.
The transport and export to the EU was quite a job and adds some wages of 2500 EUR to the sales price.

After arrival of the bike I did a first check and everything looks o.k.
Starting the engine was successfull and the Silk sends a smokey welcome to my neighbourhood. Everybody was enthusiastic waving with his hands....they like the Silk....

My next important task is getting the paperwork done and passing the famous TÜV to get the Silk road legal as a historic vehicle.
Does anybody know if there is another Silk owner in Germany? I have never seen a Silk around here......

I hope that spring is coming early this year and I can do a first ride out.
The Silk forum has a lot of helpfull content so I have no questions yet......

Thank you for your welcome.

I think it is an almost original bike and I will try to keep it as it is, no "modern modifications".
A few ToDos are coming up now.
The head gasket is leaking. I will try an aluminum gasket with silikon sealant on both sides.
The swinging arm has some play and the front brake needs new sealings.
It looks like a serious service and then it should run perfect. The engine is running silent and starts on third kick every time.

I will post my findings and questions etc.
