Hi Paul,
Bike now using silkolene comp 2, oiling problems was mainly when engine was cold.
This was when I first bought the bike in 79, was using castrol TT.
It was embarrassing at times, not long after getting the bike,I got a call from the bike shop.
They wanted me to show a possible customer, the Silk, they gave me his address, and off I went.
It was about a 10 + mile trip, anyway got there o/k, had a good chat, etc.
Went to leave, bike would not start, plugs had oiled, cleaned them, bike fired up.
Not a good advertisment, for the bike, he still bought one, with black paint work.
The other day the bike had a mystery none start, cold engine, would not start.
This is what got me thinking, about electronic ignition systems, not liking oiled plugs.
After removing the Lumenition system in 81, never had any oiled plugs,no start problems.
Bike now has Boyer, fitted behind oil pump, recent fitment.
