Oh Dear - anybody have a spare petrol tank?

RoyalBlue
On 21 November I shipped my Silk petrol tank to a paint shop using Evri. Today Evri have finally admitted they have lost it. I don't suppose anybody has a spare tank or can suggest how I might get one made? Clearly the bike isn't much use to me until I can resolve this situation.

Moral of the story: Don't use EVRI and ship unique parts with a tracker.

Sorry to hear yet another tale about an Evri non delivery with such an unhappy outcome.  I do hope that your tank may still turn up.   If you do decide to get a new tank made I have heard of a tank maker near to me here in Wales.  From their website they say that they have been in business from the early 70's and offer a wide range of alloy products.  I couldn't find a Silk in their amazing picture gallery of previous tanks made in situ.
Their website is https://tabclassics.com
Since they are not far from me I am prepared to take my Silk tank along for them to measure up if they would be happy with that.  I wouldn't be able to leave it there though.  The one caveat is that my Silk is made from an earlier Silk Scott frame and I don't know if there is any difference with the tank mountings.
Good luck with coming up with a solution and I hope that Evri are going to pay for it.

Many thanks for your kind offer. It is really appreciated. My engine number is 700s/2/78. Your suggestion look like a quality outfit and I will call them to figure out the lay-of-the-land. I will message again when I know more.

Sadly I only insured it for £500 so I fully expect to be seriously out of pocket from the whole sorry episode. I thought that would be enough to motivate them to actually go and find it. I shipped it in an 84L Really Useful Box measuring 71x44x38. Should be pretty obvious one would think?
